LOW ENERGY SERVICES: Retrofit Assessment and Coordination
What is Retrofit?

Retrofit design involves upgrading the fabric of an existing building making it more comfortable, cheaper to run and more environmentally friendly. Retrofit makes a building more thermally efficient and reduces heating demands. It’s also about using renewable technologies to reduce your carbon footprint. By retrofitting, we can enhance the sustainability of existing buildings, making them more resilient to future climate threats and align with national carbon reduction targets, needed to achieve net zero emissions.

How can we help?
Our low energy specialists, LEAF, have a long and proven record of making buildings of all ages, conditions, and methods of construction more energy efficient. Whether this is your home or non-domestic building such as offices, schools, or higher education establishments. The aim being to reduce primary energy consumption and as a result reduce carbon emissions. As experienced retrofit professionals we can compile a complete retrofit plan for your property. This will be a step by step list of improvements including thermal and ventilation improvements, a heating strategy and renewable technology strategy which will bring your property up to its optimum energy and carbon emissions saving potential.
What is PAS 2035?
Some domestic energy efficiency measures can be funded by Government grants. Where this applies retrofit professionals have to adhere to the PAS2035 framework and demonstrate compliance with this document. PAS 2035:2023 is a British standard that outlines how to improve the energy efficiency of existing homes. It’s a framework for “whole house” retrofits that considers the home, its environment, and the occupants.
We can carry out the key roles of the Retrofit Assessor, Retrofit Coordinators and most crucially, the Retrofit Designer stipulated in Pas2035 in-house.
At present the following government funded schemes require compliance with PAS 2035 for all domestic retrofit projects:
- Energy Company Obligation (ECO) schemes (currently ECO4)
- Social housing fund wave 3
- Warm homes local grant (STARTS APRIL 2025)
