Abbey House
Deep retrofit of a Victorian property
LEAF carried out a complete set of deep retrofit recommendations for this property.
This pre-1910 property was undergoing a change of use from offices to residential use. Although not listed, it is surrounded by listed buildings. Having been built in the early Victorian era it’s made of solid wall construction and had no insulation and some very damp walls with rising damp in areas.
LEAF had to come up with practical solutions to combat all of the damp ingress issues from the roof down to ground level and them come up with a way of insulating, ventilating and heating this property to the highest standard. LEAF produced a detailed thermal model of the property in order to test out different retrofit scenarios to get the lowest possible energy ratings and carbon emissions reductions for the client.
