Nick is a founding director of Stickland Wright and a highly accomplished architect known for his innovative approach and commitment to sustainability.
Establishing his own practice in 2003, one of his early milestones was leading the first private housing development to achieve an Eco Homes ‘Excellent’ rating – a 15-home project in the Cotswolds that fused contemporary design with traditional oolite limestone architecture. This ethos of sustainability has continued throughout his career, including his work on a Newhaven development, which became the first Active House accredited project in the UK.
Nick’s award-winning work includes the Savoy Holiday Village, a redevelopment of 115 units with luxurious leisure and spa facilities, which earned the prestigious Sunday Times Property Award for Best Development. In his early career, Nick was the project architect for a £30M super-prime residential development off Sloane Square (with over 300 site operatives). He has also served as an expert witness in high-stakes arbitration disputes, offering his expertise in construction delay claims.
Nick’s long-standing passion for heritage architecture is reflected in his role as an inspecting architect for churches within the Isle of Wight Deanery. Stickland Wright has now earned three heritage awards, underscoring Nick’s commitment to preservation and reinvention of historic buildings.
